Winfield Cavalier Cheerleading Overview

  • Our squads cheer for the Winfield Cavalier (WYFCP) football teams.
  • Cheer season runs from August - December and finishes after the CCYFCL Super Bowl. All cheer squads are expected to cheer throughout the entire football season.
  • Practices for the season will begin on the last Monday in July.
  • Football games will start the weekend of August 24.
  • Squads will be determined by age and grade.
  • The instructional squad will consist of children ages 4-5.
  • Teams can practice Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday until the week of our first game.
  • Outdoor practices will be held from 6:00pm - 8:00pm at Mayeski Park.
  • After Labor Day, we will move to indoor practices. Location and times will vary by team.
  • All children participating in either cheer or football within the CCYFCL are required to have a valid Maryland ID card prior to roster certification. (August 15, 2020).
  • Uniforms will consist of one skirt, long sleeve and vest. There is a $125 deposit required to pick up a uniform and uniforms are returned at the end of the season.
  • Parents are responsible for purchasing white cheer shoes, black bloomers and black leggings.
  • All squads will participate in the CCYFCL Cheer Competition and several teams will compete in additional outside competitions.

Note: The Cavaliers will hold a Cheer Camp from June 22nd- 26th. The camp will be held at Mayeski Park and run from 5:30 p.m- 8:30 p.m.. Cost is $152. Please contact our cheer director with any additional questions.
